Hi everyone, I'm Lori O. I've retired after teaching in the same rural Pennsylvania school district since 1986. I've taught 11 and 12 English, all levels: Academic, College Prep., and Honors. I taught Shakespeare class, a class in Keystone Test preparation, and various odds and ends. I was a class advisor, cheerleading coach, and drama director. I have a great husband and two kids. My daughter graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and is preparing for law school and my son graduated from Lycoming College and works in real estate appraisal. They are awesome!
I'm an old-fashioned teacher. I believe in providing students with essential information and developing their fundamental skills. I like to then set them off on an adventure independently or with partners or in a group to explore and discover. I assess their learning through various activities, writing, presentations, and projects.
I'm proud of the success that my students achieve. Many return from college with "thank you's" and positive feedback. One year I was voted "Funniest Teacher."
