I have nineteen years of experience teaching Art in schools of all different backgrounds- urban, rural, title 1, private, parochial, high school, elementary- phew! I currently teach at a rural high school in western North Carolina and wouldn't dream of being anywhere else!
I believe in the *process* of creating art. I teach my students how to think for themselves and problem solve while learning proper techniques for all of the different art materials.
In 2019, I renewed National Board Teaching Certification in Art/Early Adolescent through Young Adulthood.
I attended a small public university in Pennslyvania and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (concentration in Drawing) with Teaching Certification.
I LOVE to teach every media I can get my hands on! But I always find my self returning to clay. There is just something about being able to take some mud and create anything you want!
