After graduating with a degree in Adventure Education from Fort Lewis College, I've gone on to work as a naturalist, instructor, program manager, and outdoor education professional. In recent years, I have been working at a PBL school in San Diego County where I work with Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Past projects have included a combination of outdoor exploration and play, physical education, earth sciences, civic engagement, and outdoor technical skills (hiking, surfing, camping, etc.).
I strive to be a "guide on the side" for my students as opposed to a "sage on the stage." I strive to let "the mountains speak for themselves" rather than over programming my students experiences in and outside the classroom. That being said, I love to use higher level facilitation strategies to scaffold and form student experiences towards a desired outcome.

In addition to being a full time teacher, I am a full time father of two. I know how hard it can be for teachers to manage planning, teaching, grading, and a personal life. I hope that the resources I've created can aid you in your teaching!
