TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I completed my student teaching at Brownstown Middle School in a 6th grade ELA classroom. I took a long term substitute position at Patrick Henry Middle School teaching 8th grade English. I have taught 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th at the high school level, and have worked as a Student Council advisor. I also have directing, acting, designing, producing, and choreography experience in the theater community including assistant director at Carlson High School and makeup artist at Bedford High School.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style can be best described as be a nice human. Respect is key for me, not just from a student to me, but me to students, and students to students. Also I believe it's important to meet students where they are at, but I do set realistic expectations for all my students. I have been told I'm strict, but I believe that it's easier to set rules and be firm first, and relax later; not the other way around. However, I am willing to embarrass myself for the sake of a lesson, and I jump at any opportunity to infuse my lessons with a theatrical flair!
