TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 27 years in the mitten state of Michigan. I am a hands-on teacher who loves students to use inquiry skills for learning. I currently teach both AP and General Education Biology. I also have taught Chemistry, Physical Science, Earth Science, Special Education, and online classes in Forensics, Astronomy, Medical Terminology, and Veterinary Science. Restorative Practices and Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning are my forte! I am finding that students prefer "hands-on" whether it is cut and paste, coloring, laboratories, talk moves, or technology. Research trends state that students are not able to stay focused as they once were, so we really need to make our lessons engaging.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands On, differentiated learning techniques and the use of technology are all important to me! I want to make sure my students are engaged in the learning. They are great multi-taskers.
