TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my eighth year teaching 4th grade at an IB school in an urban district. I worked as a Life Skills and 1-on-1 Special Education assistant while I went back to school for my degree in Education. Prior to working with students, I worked as an architectural illustrator for various builders and developers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel the IB program closely aligns with the Facilitator, or activity, style of teaching, promoting self-learning and helping students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualization. This style encourages students to ask questions and helps develop skills to find answers and solutions through exploration.
