TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in 1981 in a small rural community in Nebraska where I taught K-12 vocal music for three years. In 1984 we moved to North Platte, Nebraska, where I taught K-8 and K-5 general music for fifteen years. My family and I moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2004 and I have been teaching K-6 general music ever since.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a "hands on" music teacher. My students get to experiece music, hear it, see it, and then use it so knowledge and understanding can occur.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2010, my 5th & 6th grade recorder band played for the opening ceremony of Wyoming's Music Teacher's Convention and I also received the Rotary Teacher of the Year award.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my BFAE from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and my Master's in Technology degree from Lesley University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 32 years and life has blessed me with three children and five grandchildren.
