TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 22nd year as an educator. I have taught at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I am certified in ELA as well as Drama and Business, and I have two years experience as a library media specialist. I have experience tutoring for Sylvan as well as ACT Prep and College Prep Summer Institutes. I present a variety of professional development workshops, particularly on use of technology to enhance teaching and on standardized test preparation. Currently, I teach AP Literature & Composition, as well as other English courses, while also acting as the Literacy Instructional Coach for my building.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use a variety of instructional techniques in our classrooms, including project based learning (PBL), Socratic Seminars, lecture, whole group, small group, and individualized learning activities. I use Google Suite, Google Slides, SlideRocket, Prezi, Google Classroom, Nearpod, Pear Deck, SmartNotebook, and a variety of other technology tools to enhance instruction.

I am the proud mother of three, ages 31, 27, and 23, and the even prouder grandmother of five beautiful girls, two of which are teenagers that my daughter (who fosters) just adopted. Last October, we welcomed my first grandSON to the family.
