I am currently teaching high school Spanish levels 1 through 4 and an intermediate college level course. I have taught Spanish to young children at a local community center. I have also taught exploratory Spanish to middle school students. I have even volunteered teaching ESL to adults. I have a wide range of experience and have been teaching languages for about 15 years.
My philosophy is that if my students are engaged and enjoying themselves while learning, then I'm doing my job. I put a great effort into differentiating my lessons. Students enjoy my teaching style because I really try to make it fun and engaging for them.
I received the very first student nominated "Above and Beyond" reward in my school. To me this was the greatest honor I could receive!
I received an undergraduate degree in International Business and Spanish from the University of Scranton, a Masters degree in Latin American Studies from American University, and a graduate level teaching certificate from East Stroudsburg University. I also hold a graduate level certificate in translation from American University.
I recently wrote a children's book entitled Santa Has a Wish, in which Santa turns the tables and creates a wishlist of his own for the children. The book starts a tradition that has children choosing one of Santa's wishes out of a mini Santa sack and doing deeds of goodness and giving for Santa as they countdown for Christmas. For more information, visit www.santahasawish.com. Many teachers have implemented this tradition in their classrooms with great student response.
