I'm currently in my eighth year of teaching and Phase Leader for years 4,5 & 6. I have been a Science Coordinator for 6 years, and been part of many different CPD opportunities for the teaching and learning of Science in a Primary setting. I have also researched how displays can support and enhance that 'sticky knowledge' that we want our children to have within the classroom and across school. Lots of the displays I use are heavily linked to providing aspiration and enhancing children's learning.
I work in the second most deprived area in the UK and so I am passionate about providing children with the best school experience and best start to life as possible. It's really important to create an environment that children can thrive in. Hands on experience, creative education and aspirational lessons are what I have used within my classroom and it always makes an effective environment for students and staff. A large part of my job is supporting behaviour management across my phase of school. I am a big believer in positive behaviour management in order to encourage positive behaviour.
I have a First Class Batchelors of Education degree. I have been at many CPD events for Science leadership and behaviour management as well as lead some myself too. I am currently studying to gain my NPQSL- which will enable me to become a Deputy Headteacher.
I struggled a lot at Secondary School with my behaviour and would often leave (or be asked to leave lessons). I gained my first class degree in teaching from the University of Worcester before becoming a teacher in St Anns in Nottingham. I love supporting children and teachers to be successful every day and reach their full potential.
