This is my 10th year in the classroom. I've taught mostly 5th and 3rd grade classes. I also was the Science Lab Specialist for K-5 where I had the privilege of doing hands-on science lessons with all classes. Most of my experience is at International Baccalaureate and Title 1 schools.
Engagement is the most important part of my classroom. I try to engage the students through personal stories, multi-sensory activities, and authentic purposeful projects. I make learning fun and relate to the students. Through the use of positive reinforcement I try to build the students' confidence to tackle challenging assignments.
