I have worked in public schools at the 7-12th grade level in southern Minnesota since 2007. During that time, I have taught American Studies, AP US History, Sociology, Debate, Street Law, World History, World Geography and Cultural Diversity courses. For the past 7 years I have participated in the AP reading and have received extensive training on the grading process for AP US History Short Answer Questions, Long Essay Questions and Document Based Questions.
I am influenced by the work of Sam Wineburg and Bruce Lesh. I try to structure my lessons as inquiries and allow students to investigate the past and analyze different interpretations of the past.
