I have taught 7th-12th grade math for 15 years. I have been teaching a Statistics elective covering the A.P. Statistics curriculum for over a decade. The materials available in this store are part of a course I developed to cover the topics on the College Board course outline by exploring published work in statistics, economics, and social science explaining systems of power and injustice in American society. In addition to the skills and concepts covered in a traditional statistics course, these materials touch on the impact of race and gender on income and intergenerational economic mobility, food security and access to health care, the school-to-prison pipeline/racialized policing practices, the legacy of redlining on urban planning, and the interplay between funding, unionization, and public school quality. Unit 1: Descriptive Statistics of univariate data, comparing distributions, and the distribution of income in the United States. Unit 2: Bivariate data, scatter plots, and intergenerational social mobility Unit 3: Regressions, food insecurity, and health insurance systems
