The Teacher Stool

For the last 5 plus years I only teach science. I can honestly say it is my sweet spot. Previous to just teaching science I taught science and math for 7 years. I taught in the middle school arena for many, many years. I have taught 6th math, as well as 6th and 7th grade math intervention classes. Despite all the challenges of being a teacher, I can honestly say there is not another occupation I would want to do. When I see one of my student’s face light up from an “aha moment”, it makes my job well worth the time and energy I devote to it.

If I was asked to define my teaching style, I would have to say, “I do what works best at reaching my students’ minds, and increasing their retention of what they’ve learned.” I believe adaptation is a must, as a teacher. It is because of this philosophy, which I am constantly researching and studying in an effort to meet the needs of my students. I am ever evolving, as I learn new teaching methods. I am proficient in creating documents. In fact, I custom create most of my class activities; such as presentations, worksheets and tests. I have found that my students understand and excel using my custom made tools and learning aids versus "big company" made items. To that end, I am excited to share some of the things that I use in my class with you, through the arena of TeachersPayTeachers.com. I hope that the tools and learning aids I’ve developed bring you some of the same, documented success I have had. While I love pretty pictures and borders, many of my products maximum paper space. I seek to offer "the most bang for your buck". I want to make sure my products disseminate the key information for the student and save teachers time and money.
