MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

• Designed curriculum and taught UC Graphic Design courses for secondary school students • Included on List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent based on outstanding student evaluations • Provided planned project based learning experiences using Adobe design software and advanced media • Conducted conferences with students to address individual career goals and progress • Emphasized research as an on-going design process of discovery and growth, encouraging students to see research and inquiry as activities central to daily life • Evaluated student designs with an emphasis on problem solving that are transferable to other classes and contexts • Worked with a diverse population of students, including many International and ESL students, and developed strategies for responding effectively to a wide range of design abilities • Encouraged students to develop career goals and work to tailor assignments to these goals • Utilized online learning management systems to organize content and communicate with students outside of class to encourage clarity and transparency • Collaborated with members of the advisory committee to finalize decisions and discuss the structure of the new Academy for Creative Industries • Provided administration and faculty with curriculum and professional development training for project based 3D printing in the classroom • Maintained a multiple-station, Macintosh digital media and 3D printing lab
