Jillian is a seasoned educator with over 20 years experience inspiring students. Her time teaching with the U.S. Peace Corps in the developing world was a transformative experience that showed her the importance of global mindedness and the value of equity and access in education. She is currently an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator at an independent school in California. She has previous worked as an IB Primary Years Programme teacher, MYP Mathematics teacher and K-12 Curriculum Coordinator at IB World Schools domestically and abroad.
Jillian values concept-driven curriculum, inquiry-based learning, and transdisciplinary unit design that emphasizes global-mindedness and embraces students’ natural curiosities. She aims to empower her students to think, discover and create whilst instilling a sense of compassion, responsibility and integrity.
