My name is Kimberly. I have been in the education world since 2015, teaching both Health related courses and ENL. Everyone always asks why I chose those two subjects, and my answer is always the same, I love connecting with my students. These two subjects really allow for a deeper connection. With Health courses being my main focus, I’ve taught Drug Education and Health to 6th and 7th grade students. I’ve also taught Wellness and Health to 9th, 11th, and 12th graders.
The most important thing in my classroom is the connection I form with students. I believe our classroom should be a community, where all students feel comfortable. Many of my students needs are addressed through social emotional learning and mindfulness.
Woman of Leadership Award, Major of the Year Award, & Presenter at the NYS AHPERD Conference
I have received my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education and my Master’s Degree in TESOL, both from LIU Post.
