I have taught primary/elementary classes and English language classes in England and New Zealand. I also took a break from teaching to work as a web designer for two years before getting back into the teaching life. I've been a homeschooling parent and now dedicate my time to developing resources to help other teachers and parents.
I am passionate about learning that is tailored to children's interests and gives lots of opportunity for children to be creative and critical thinkers. I love activities that involve problem-solving and teamwork. I think it's important that learning materials cater to a variety of learning styles and get kids moving, using their hands to make things, and appeal to them visually. I also try to make my teaching have real-world applications whenever possible. And lastly, it's important to differentiate learning so that all children feel supported, motivated and challenged at the right level.
Yet to be added
I have a Bachelor of Arts in education, English and foreign languages, a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Primary), and a Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA).
I'm married and have three great children who continue to inspire me. As a child I loved making things. I loved color and decorating my work with cute titles, borders and pictures, and I absolutely loved school. Today I get to combine all those passions every time I create a new learning resource.
