Investigation of a Chicken Wing
My 8th grade class loved this simple dissection lab! We studied the major bones and muscles of the human musculo-skeletal system, then students dissected a chicken wing. Students investigate how the muscles have complementary action, and identify the analogous bones of the human arm and the chicken's wing. You can just pick up a pack of chicken wings at Sam's or Costco. The lab is easier if you can find skinless wings, but this is not necessary. Just be sure to allow time to cut through the skin
