Teachers fill up ziplock bags of Lucky Charm cereal and distribute bags to small groups of students. Students count the total number of oats and different types of marshmallows. After adding up all of the totals, they find the rang, mean, median, and mode of their data set. They then collect the other groups data and analyze the whole class totals.

This daily homework assignment planner was a big time saver for me. Simply pull it up on your smart board, find the correct day, and write! I froze the assignment notebook, and left it up during our study hall time or while students filled out planners.I have locked items, so they do not move while you write. However, it you want to edit simply unlock them and make your adjustments. The last page has some editable text to customize for your school mascot :)

Enjoy this Promethean Flipchart that brings Robust Vocabulary Words from the StoryTown Grade 3 Reading Program to a new level. I have incoporated real-life images which depict the vocabulary words for this unit. This is a great tool to use while teaching the weekly vocabulary words, especially for second language learners, as it provides a visual image for each word. In lieu of a "star student", this works better for upper grades. Each week choose a Newsmaker of the Week. The newsmaker does a little "show-n-tell" style presentation about themselves and then each student writes an article about them on a sheet of 5 in. by 11 in. binder paper (like a column.) Then create a headline in Word saying like: JOE SMITH: NEWSMAKER OF THE WEEK, glue it onto actual newspaper and then glue on all the students articles on as well. It creates a personal newspaper. A
