Medicine wheel - Seasons
This is a medicine wheel that is used to show the cycle of the seasons. The center represents Mother Earth and the connections between each of these elements. I used images that represent each season in North America. The sun represents Summer as this is when we see the sun the most, a totem pole to represent Fall trees and our many uses for them, the moon to represent Winter as we have longer nights, and a raven to represent Spring and the birth of new life.

This social story describes the trauma that Indigenous people have experienced as a result of residential schools. It talks about the struggles that Indigenous people continue to face today as a result of generational trauma and abuse. It suggests that reconciliation is the way forward, and identifies the need for allies to do the work that is needed to create positive change for Indigenous people.
