Amelia Bedelia Idioms Worksheet and Constructed Response
These two worksheets were designed as part of a three day guided reading lesson plan for below-grade level fourth graders, most who were English language learners. I chose to work with "Amelia Bedelia" books because they have interesting vocabulary and lots of idioms, which are a great way to expose them to American idioms and figurative language. This group was also working on how to respond in complete sentences, one at a time. Both sheets were heavily modeled to ensure success.
