Narrative Planning Plot Chart
I created and printed this plot chart onto 11 by 17 paper for my class this year in order to help them plan their narrative stories before writing. It worked wonders!

Lightning Thief Writing Packet
A story writing packet for a unit on "The Lightning Thief," by Rick Riordan. Students will write their own half-blood story with 16 pages of guidance on creating characters, locations, and event sequences. They will fill in a story map and edit their final work.

Romeo and Juliet Families
When trying to teach who belongs to which family in Romeo and Juliet, I found that students understand better when they have a graphic to look at. I created this to give students a "cheat sheet" to look at when trying to figure out who goes where. I gave students a list of characters and one person they were related to and turned it into a riddle. (I put that list on the board in random order.)

Create A Nail Polish Line - Romeo and Juliet
A line of nail polishes representing The Hunger Games was released earlier this month. It struck me that it might be fun for the students to create a nail polish line based on another set of star-crossed lovers: Romeo and Juliet. Maniac Magee Theme Worksheet
