These three practice tests will help familiarize your students with the format and question answer technique found in both the First Grade GATES vocabulary test and the STAR Early Literacy tests. The tests have pictures that the students have to choose the correct word with the correct spelling. I use these practice tests to help alleviate test stress on the actual test. My kids know they can do well, because they have already done something similar.

Learning sight words can be very challenging for little ones. “Ocean Words” make learning enjoyable and exciting. They also allow teachers to appropriately level the instruction to each student.
