This lesson builds off of any emotional regulation lesson completed in the past and has a President's Day theme! Students will identify coping skills and color code those coping skills to identify what feelings they would use each skill for. Then students will add their colored coping skills into their "Abe Lincoln Hat."
Break passes are a great way to encourage students to advocate for themselves when their body and mind needs a break! This allows students to advocate without interrupting a lesson. Simply tell the student to show their pass and set a time limit.
