Math Thanksgiving Center - Write & Count The Room
This is a fantastic Thanksgiving center that you can use in your classroom. This would work best in grades K or 1st. This is a count and read the room activity where children find Thanksgiving pictures around the room and count the tally marks and record the answer.

Native American Informative Coloring Sheet
This includes two coloring informative worksheets. While I read, the students color along. I split this into two days. The first day, we read and color about Native Americans. We then make a necklace using a variety of colorful beads (dollar tree). On the second day, we read about dream catchers. We then make our own dream catcher out of paper plates, yarn, feathers, and beads. We hang these on the classroom ceiling.

The students can sort the photos, according to if they happened long ago, or happen now. I add magnets to the back side of the pictures, and use them in our Social Studies station as a sorting activity.

Integrated Thanksgiving Unit
I created a week long thematic integrated unit plan for Thanksgiving. This unit focused on the friendship between the Pilgrims and Native Americans. The students learned a different aspect of the story each day. They drew what they learned on a piece of fabric throughout the progression of the story as we discussed the lesson each day. The end result was a four piece quilt of the Thanksgiving Story.
