This includes two coloring informative worksheets. While I read, the students color along. I split this into two days. The first day, we read and color about Native Americans. We then make a necklace using a variety of colorful beads (dollar tree). On the second day, we read about dream catchers. We then make our own dream catcher out of paper plates, yarn, feathers, and beads. We hang these on the classroom ceiling.

I created a week long thematic integrated unit plan for Thanksgiving. This unit focused on the friendship between the Pilgrims and Native Americans. The students learned a different aspect of the story each day. They drew what they learned on a piece of fabric throughout the progression of the story as we discussed the lesson each day. The end result was a four piece quilt of the Thanksgiving Story.
