An English Language Arts teacher since 2010, I am an instructional coach and mentor with the renowned Santa Cruz/Silicon Valley New Teacher Project, as well as a guest lecturer for the Teacher Pathways Program at Hartnell College in Salinas, CA.
I believe each student has the capacity for productive struggle, especially when you learn what they care about and then leverage that to engage them.
I began my teaching career with a Teacher Quality Partnership fellowship from the federal government. I was awarded the Excellence in Teaching award from the Ceiba Foundation in 2018.
I possess a BA in Sociology and Literature as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bard College. I possess a cleared California SB 2040 credential and CLAD certificate.
I was born, raised, and educated in New York, and currently teach and mentor in central California.
