An Old Coach and History Teacher Too

I am the Head Softball Coach at a 5A High School in Texas. This is my 9th year as a Head Coach and have accumulated and developed lot of helpful Softball drills, charts, strategies, play-calling wristbands, coaches/player/parent notebooks. Many of my items could be very applicable to Baseball as well. I also teach 10th Grade World History and have many years of teaching 8th grade US History and 7th grade Texas History experience as well.

I like to be organized and intentional. I strive to make my practices efficient with smooth transitions and players constantly working. In the classroom, I believe in fostering relationships and teaching the real life lessons that this generation needs the most. When it comes to learning World History, I believe in student centered research. I want my students to be able to read and think for themselves. I believe too many people today want things handed to them. It's my mission to help students help themselves.

125-65 overall career record. My teams have never missed the playoffs in nine years. Coach of the year honors three consecutive years as well as back to back to back undefeated district championships.

B.S. in Kinesiology from Tarleton State University with a secondary teaching field of Social Studies Composite and Physical Education. M.ED in Educational Administration with Principal Certification from Tarleton State University.

I love coaching Softball with all my heart. I feel there is an extreme lack of information available to softball coaches with most of it being repetitive and not helpful. I see a need for information that is relevant and will truly help coaches run better practices and greater programs. I love teaching and helping kids. My main goal is helping kids be independent and problem solvers. I'm against free handouts and participation trophies. I want to teach the kids the value of hard work.
