I've been a School Psychologist for 16 years...and counting in Southern California. I have evaluated over 800 students in my long career, with 10 years in Middle Schools and 6 years in Elementary Schools. I am currently enjoying my elementary assignments and working with my students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. I make my tools for my students, but have enjoyed sharing them with others who are also supporting children with counseling services in schools.
I have a multi-modal approach to engaging children in learning about their emotions and with helping them make growth in areas of social or emotional need. I focus a lot on building rapport and trust, and with finding what engages students to participate in counseling. I love to use videos, games, role play activities, and arts and crafts to provide variety, novelty, and keep students excited about coming to their counseling sessions.
