This year marks my 31st privileged year teaching wonderfully thoughtful and motivated students in the Clarkstown Central School District. Nine of those years were spent teaching 4th grade, and I've spent the last 21 years teaching 5th grade.
I would characterize my teaching style as challenging, logical, and critical. I have high expectations of my students and myself. To me, a highly effective teacher is one who is highly passionate, highly reflective, and highly engaging. To inspire and encourage the students entrusted to me is my ultimate goal.
Perhaps my greatest honor was having a former student of mine, a sixth grader, comment to me how I was able to make history exciting for him when that had previously seemed an impossibility.

I have a wonderfully supportive wife and two terrific children that make me proud to be their father. I enjoy the outdoors (especially building igloos in the winter) and exercising my body (mostly by swimming) and my mind (mainly by creating a prolific amount of material for use in my classroom).
