"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly. i.e. It's better to brush your teeth for 30 seconds than not at all. Don't let fear of imperfection keep you from giving it your all. If your all isn't enough--keep trying and don't forget to pray."

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Homeschool Teacher of 8 years. I also am paid to teach a class of elementary aged children every week!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is a mix between classical education and creatively out of the box. I like to add whimsy and magic to things. I also think it's very important to not only pass along information, but also, to teach children the art of self instruction. To spark an appetite for learning and continue to fan that flame. I like to teach and engage in such a way as to create a hunger for more infomation beyond what is given. If I can teach children to love learning in and of itself, then I am not only benefitting them during grade school but also for their entire life. I am convinced that retention doubles when children enjoy learning and also take ownership of their education on some level. Once they graduate, they will not go far in life with zero drive to learn. Someday the decision to keep learning will not be their teacher's our their parent's decision, but only their own. If I can be a part of the reason they have a hunger to keep expanding their mind and applying themselves wholeheartedly then that is a teaching win for me!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

The first three things are integral to who I am and after that it's in no particular order... First off, I am a Christian. My relationship with Jesus is what gives me life and wakes me up in the morning. I've been through some ridiculously hard seasons but God has always been faithful to me. Second off, I am a Wife. My husband, Bailey and I have been married for 12 years. He is my best friend and most trusted confidant and favorite person to mess with! Third, I am a Momma to three amazing boys: Adam (11), Owen (10), and Levi (7). These creative evil genusis have the best laughs and hearts in the world--I'm convinced. I love being their Mom. -I am a musician. I have been playing the piano and singing for 33 out of 35 years. I love writing original pieces as well as making covers. My husband and I have a YouTube channel and post things from time to time. -I am an artist. I make hand painted journals, cards, wooden ornaments, bookmarks, canvas paintings, etc. My speciality is calligraphy and watercolor. I have a side business called Grace At Home. You can find me on Facebook. -I am a Homeschool Teacher of 8 years. Teaching--like any job--has it's ebbs and flows. Currently I am in a season of energy and enjoyment. I am loving teaching my boys--there's nothing like seeing inquring minds start to take ownership of their own education and have a hunger for knowing more. -I am also a paid Classical Conversations Foundations Teacher. I teach a class once a week of elementary aged children. I love that I get to have that one on one time with my own kids while also dabbling my foot in teaching many kids. CC has been a perfect fit for our family in the season of life we are in! -I am a writer and so is my husband. His speciality is fiction and mine is literally anything that is non-fiction. My favorite thing to write is encouragement for fellow Momma's in the form of devotionals or articles. If you read this far, mad props to you! I appreciate your interest and support. Have a wonderful day and if I never see you again, have a wonderful life! -Grace
