Inspire Me ASAP

I have been teaching for 16 years. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade. After 14 years of classroom teaching, I accepted a position as an instructional coach. I worked with teachers in grades K-5 on implementing best practices for math, ELA, and technology, by modeling lessons, co-teaching, and working one-on-one planning with teachers. After just one year as an instructional coach, I realized that my true passion is teaching children and having my own classroom. I am grateful for the opportunity that coaching gave me, and I am more excited than ever to be back in the classroom...as a second grade teacher! My philosophy of education is inspired by the following quote, "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." I received my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and my graduate degree from St. Xavier University. I have since earned over 40 graduate hours in the areas of differentiated instruction.
