I haven't had the "typical path" into teaching. I wasn't able to attend college after high school, and when I finally did go to college...it wasn't for the right reasons. Even though I had dreamt of being a teacher since 2nd grade....life happens, and that's not the path I chose. Although I now have a degree in nursing as well as experience in the vacation rental business on Oahu, Hawaii...teaching kindergarten has by far been the most rewarding career I have had. I wouldn't trade it for the world and just want to be as helpful as I possibly can to those who may be struggling and in need of encouragement or resources to make their days a little less stressful. No matter your experience or what trials you are facing... you are making a difference...in the best possible way, every single day.
Some would say my "teaching style" is a little "over the top". I have been called Ms. Frizzle more times than I count, and I love it. I love wearing costumes... flipping the classroom. and teaching engaging lessons and material. I want my kinder babies to WANT to come to school every day, and I want them to know that they are loved and appreciated in our classroom.
Rookie of the year in my first year of teaching.
