I have taught for twenty-two years in public education. I am dual certified in elementary and secondary education. My teaching background includes first grade classroom experience, junior high and high school classroom experience, and staff development and teacher mentoring experience. I have a Reading Endorsement and have been a Reading Specialist for primary students. I have developed and facilitated teacher trainings including, but not limited to, the areas of literacy, cooperative learning, increasing the levels of cognition and engagement, using data to plan and deliver targeted instruction, discussion strategies and strategies to encourage movement in the classroom.
I am passionate about teaching and love to learn ways to improve my practice. My focus is providing students with quality instruction that is differentiated to meet students' needs. I love using brain compatible methods with novelty and high levels of student engagement.
