Learning with Louise

I am a very lucky kindergarten teacher. I get to spend time each day with some of my favorite people and most of them are only five years old! I love teaching kindergarten, but have taught other primary, intermediate and secondary classes. I am beginning my 23rd year in education and still love everyday!

My classroom is always full of music, laughter and smiles. I love encouraging my student to be their best and try to lead by example. My favorite resources are differentiated, fun, hands-on and engaging. Nothing academic is off limits to get my students' attention and interested in the lessons I have planned.

In 2020, the Indiana superintendent of public schools named all teachers that were working through the pandemic the Indiana Teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year.

Graduated from Marian University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Kindergarten.

Wife for 23 yrs to my high school best friend. Mom of three very active sons. They are the loves of my life and the reason I get up everyday. All three had learning challenges in school from dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADD and ADHD. This and my belief that all children have a right to learn in their own way are what keep me trying to learn new ways to help all of my students meet their full potential and find ways to reach every learner.
