I began teaching in 2010 for a small district in Texas and eventually settled in the DFW area. I have taught 5th - 8th grade Science and 9th grade Biology, 10th grade Chemistry, 12 grade PLTW Biomedical Innovations, and 12th grade Research and Design. I have had the honor and privilege to provide guidance and support to many teachers over the years. I served with the Texas Regional Collaborative for Science Teachers for many years which allowed me to focus on curriculum development and facilitating professional development sessions with a team of Texas teachers. Through this experience I was able to share expertise, offer advice, provide feedback, and help mentees navigate challenges that they encountered in their teaching practice. My experience at different Texas based ISD’s also allowed me to be part of the campus leadership team where we collaborated to make strategic decisions regarding the overall direction, improvement, and management of the school. Through this process I was able to play a crucial role in setting goals, implementing initiatives, addressing challenges, and fostering a positive school culture.
My teaching style incorporates both hands-on-learning and experimental design. I like to foster a love for science while inspiring curiosity and creativity to engage all of my learners. My hope is that all of my students will leave my classroom with a lifelong love for learning and discovering.
