TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade over the past 13 years. Through my experiences, I have found myself to love this middle school! My students are amazing and I enjoy every minute of it. Right now, I have taught 7th and 8th grade reading for five years. I am always learning and looking for new strategies that will have an impact on my students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I got my undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Elementary and Middle School Education. I got endorsements in reading and middle level. Then a couple years later, I got my master's degree in literacy from the University of Northern Iowa. I wasn't done yet.... Over the past couple years, I got another master's degree from Grand Canyon University in High School English. :)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have grown-up and lived in Iowa my whole life. I have been married for 11 years to a wonderful guy that accepts me for who I am and supports me in anything I want to do. We have two beautiful children, Connor (9 1/2) and Caitlin (7 1/2). I love softball and spend my summers taking care of the kids and coaching high school softball!
