TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have hit my 28th year of teaching! I have taught several years in second grade, but third is my all-time favorite!!! I have team-taught in the subjects of Language Arts, and independently in a self-contained classroom. I enjoy teaching all subject areas, but my passion and strength are in the area of Language Arts! I most enjoy being able to teach across the curriculum in all subject areas with my many themed units.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is visual with lots of explanation and modeling for students. I truly believe that we learn by using all learning senses depending on our learning style, and what it is we are experiencing and need to master.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated for Teacher of the Year in 2010

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have received both a Bachelor Degree and Masters Degree in Reading.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am always creating new learning ideas to use in my classroom every day. I love to create new lesson plans and fun activities/worksheets that my students can relate to. I have shared my ideas with my fellow teachers and they have encouraged me to share my ideas with you too!
