I have been an SLP working with the pediatric population for 10 years. I've worked in the public school setting with Pre-K through elementary students. I've work in both the general population and self-contained setting. My niche over the years has been working with students on the Autism Spectrum find their voice through augmentative communication. Currently I'm on a new journey into the world of Early Intervention and am loving it. Throughout my career I've always placed a strong value on functional communication. I want my students to walk away with functional strategies they can apply in the classroom and with peers in the cafeteria. Recently my shift has been to parent and teacher education. You can find many products in my store that inform and educate other on the role of a Speech-Language Pathologist in the community.
I am all about function. I tend to steer away from activities that work on isolated skills; rather, I prefer focus on a gestalt theory of language. Language lessons that incorporate essential strategies for application in a child's every day life.
