I began my career in education as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).My first year as a SLPA was exciting and exhausting, but I was hooked. I went on to study for my Master's Degree in Communication Disorders during the evenings while I continued my day job as a school-based SLPA. I graduated with my MS in Communicative Disorders in 2014 and have worked in a variety of pediatric settings since including schools, home health, clinic, and teletherapy.
My passion is using literacy-based interventions to help my students improve their communication skills in authentic contexts that mirror the general education curriculum. Through the years, I have provided speech and language therapy using dozens and dozens of fantastic books, and therapy based on dialogic book reading continues to be my bread and butter day to day.

The first time around, I graduated with a BA in Sociology and Spanish and a minor in Cultural Studies. I later went back to school to take Leveling Courses for speech pathology and ultimately received my MS in Communication Disorders in 2014.
My husband and I met 12 years ago playing sand volleyball, and we still take to the court every chance we get. Admittedly, we don't get in as many games as we used to now that we have our 7 year old daughter and 2 year old son in tow. We're lucky though, that they love to be outside just like us, whether it's hiking, playing sports, or just sitting on a blanket and listening to music together.
