TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English for twenty plus years. I teach second language learners, struggling readers, mainstreamed students, GATE, and Honors. I love the challenge of getting all types of learners to improve and approach or exceed grade level during the course of a year.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have thoroughly embraced the use of technology in the classroom. I find that through the use of the Google suite, I can differentiate my class in ways that simply weren't possible in the past. I hope to pass on some ideas to help you do the same.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been given awards for my teaching by the PTSA and have had the year book dedicated to me, through a vote of the students and staff. Perhaps the greatest honor has been the students that have visited me after promoting and shared how prepared they are for the next grade level because of what they have learned from my class.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I started at Cerritos Community College. Then I attended Cal State University Fullerton, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in English as well as my teaching credential. After a couple years of teaching, I continued my education at UC Irvine, where I earned my Masters Degree in English Literature.
