I have taught second grade for 11 years. I am passionate about teaching and building relationships with my students. They are so young and impressionable. My goal is for every child to walk out of my classroom door with their chin held high, a big smile, a full heart, and a belief in themselves and their ability to learn. As educators, we have an amazing opportunity to leave a positive impression on our students' hearts that they carry with them for a lifetime.
I enjoy giving my students lessons that focus on interactions and learning from others. I use tables rather than desks to encourage conversations and group projects. I believe that school should be a fun place. We should be able to giggle, sing, dance, and enjoy learning.
I have been the recipient of numerous grants through the Mattoon Foundation for Excellence and Donors Choose.
I received my BS in Education in 2001 with certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In 2008, I received my MS in Administration. I still take every opportunity to learn and grow as an educator. One of the reasons I joined TpT is to continue learning and growing as an educator. I think this site provides us with a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow.
