TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a NY TFA Corps alum who taught in the Bronx for two years (9th grade World History and 12th Grade Remedial History Regents Prep). I then taught at a Democracy Prep Charter School in Harlem as a 7th grade US history teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think it is so important to have a strong hook, then introduction to new material, then practice that material together, and finally allow the students to practice on their own. All lessons should have some type of summative or formative assessment so as the teacher you can check for understanding.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

7-12th grade NYS certified teacher in Social Studies

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College (Major in history with a minor in education) Master's from Fordham University (Adolescent Social Studies Education)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I grew up in California and now reside in New York City where I am constantly perfecting my craft as a history teacher in hopes of coming up with exciting and engaging new lessons
