TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 21st year in the classroom! I was a classroom teacher for nineteen years - sixteen years in 4th grade and three years in first grade!! Now I am an instructional technology facilitator and I work with students in grades K-8. I also work with teachers and staff members. I love my job!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that all students can learn and I try to find creative ways to engage them daily.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a Level 2 Google Certified Educator. I am also a SMART Certified Lesson Developer. I was Teacher of the Year for my school in 2014-2015. In 2004, I was the Wal-Mart teacher of the year for my county. This was a HUGE honor because I was nominated by a student.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Campbell University in 2002, where I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education. I received my MAeD in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University in 2007.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have an amazing husband, Chris, and an awesome son, Blake, who is twelve. I have 1 cat,3 dogs (a Maltese, a Golden Retriever, and a mixed breed dog), and an axolotl. I am a Christian and I thank God every day for the many blessings He provides. I love my family, friends, and career.
