TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently, I teach 6th grade Language Arts Literacy in NJ. Prior to that, I've taught 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades. I've been teaching for 12 years! I've also written curriculum for my district and am called upon for guidance in the area of Language Arts Literacy.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use the Reading and Writing Workshop model for majority of my lessons. I am sure to break up my lessons to allow for direct teaching, partner work, independent work, and reflection. I am a firm believer in utilizing strong mentor texts but also allowing student choice in their reading.
