For 14 years I taught middle and high school reading, language arts, AP Literature, and journalism in a rural school district and K-12 building in northern Michigan. As an educator, I designed, developed, and implemented our department's standards-based grading scales, online portfolio requirements, and also created all of my own courses resources. As a TpT content creator, I design resources that require little-to-no prep, are visually-engaging, student-centered, and directly (but also discreetly) tied to Common Core English standards. I currently serve as an instructional technology specialist and adjunct instructor for Northwestern Michigan College.
I strive to develop highly organized resources centered around scaffolding, student-inquiry, engagement, and project-based learning.
I regularly received high ratings from administrators and positive feedback from students and parents.
BA from Kalamazoo College (Major: English; Minor: History; Concentration: Education) MA from Michigan State University in Educational Technology
My favorite part of teaching is the creation of activities, units, and experiential opportunities that were designed so that any educator could take them and make them their own. Now you can!
