Real-life Budget activity
This activity will be a guided class activity in which students choose their career from a list of careers and median salaries. The students will then use websites and given information to determine their school loan payments, buy a house, determine their mortgage, utilities, car payment, insurance and groceries/living expenses. The students will be able to complete a budget sheet and then a short 4 question reflection sheet from the activity. My students did this at the end of 8th grade math

KC's Choices is the 4th and 5th grade Conflict Management Program that is used in conjunction with Kelso's Choices. I created these slides to go along with the handout and work through them one week at a time. The first week I go through the Non-Verbal choices and the Second Week I work through the Verbal choices. I hope you can easily use these resources along with the program.

Responsibility: visual activity and role plays
Responsibility is an important value. Instilling this value in students is necessary for time management, intrinsic motivation, prioritization, and good work ethic. This is my favorite activity to do with students. You'll need a clear jar or vase, small pebbles, and large rocks, along with this lesson plan. The visual is very impactful. The role play activities the students create afterwards will reinforce their ability to apply the new information.
