Graphing like Y=MX+B (Taylor Swift, 22) (Worksheet, Lyrics, Video)

As a personal attendee of 8 years of all-girls school, and a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, this is a product I created to help engage fellow Swift fans in math, particularly to help girls feel competent and confident when working through problems. My students have loved these disposable crutches and can refer back to them when doing more complex problems. You can use the entire song or just the chorus. This product is great for helping students understand graphing and the basic equation Y=MX+B. Inclu

A memorable tune, mathematical vocabulary, and a practical application of an invaluable tool for problem based learning - Oh My Darlin' Number Line. This slide show not only contains a song that I still hear my 5th graders sing in class but, it also contains valuable vocabulary and conceptual ties to prior knowledge to help students relate to how to use a number line. As adults we often do not realize the angst a student has while trying to choose an appropriate tool to solve a complex word

I rewrote the lyrics to the popular song "Shake It" by Metro Station for my Algebra I students. The new words describe the process of graphing lines and linear inequalities. My singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, but the math content is solid and the kids thought it was hilarious! The students had a BLAST making the music video.
