A SmartBoard file which explores how we hear, the anatomy of the ear, different things we hear with our ears, as well as ear safety tips. Good to use with K-3. Using this file an instructor can conduct a full lesson of about one hour, if coupled with some sort of reading time using a book about the sense of hearing.

Example the heart is a pump etc.. There are worksheets that can be printed out to reinforce information. The panels can also be used to asses the students progress. This Smartboard file describes the anatomy of our nose, how we smell, different things we can smell, and can also be used in conjunction with a book about the sense of smell. At the end of the lesson a smell game can be played where students smell different cotton balls that have been "treated" with different smells ex.(roses, honey, orange, etc).

This Smart Board lesson is geared towards teaching young children about their five senses. It uses Mr. Potato Head to help them understand. You can dress up the potato with all different pieces. This will ehlp students understand as you describe what we use these for. Can be enhanced by giving hands on demonstrations, such as using your nose to smell.
