Being a Good Citizen at Home, at School, and in the Community
You can use these cards in many ways.
1. Print these cards, cut them out, and use them as a visual introduction to citizenship.
• Show the students these cards and ask them if the children shown are being good citizens or if they are following rules at home, school, or in the community.
• Use these cards as discussion starters. Show a particular card and ask the students what they should do if someone else is not being a good citizen.

Transportation: Land, Air, and Water Sort
This is a great activity for students to work on in centers or when they have finished their work early. If students cannot yet read, instruct the students in finding the beginning sound of each label or use the pictures of land, air, and water instead of the labels.
• Cut out and laminate these pictures and labels. Have students sort the pictures by land, air, and water.

Fair or Unfair Quiz
This is a basic 10-question quiz that I made for my first graders to introduce them to the idea of rules and laws (I used it when going over standards SS.1.C.1.1 and SS.1.C.3.1). Each question is a statement and students have to circle rather that statement is fair or unfair. Being a Good Citizen
These are artifact cards for a social studies mini unit for kindergarten (but can be used for any primary grade). The artifact cards include Ruby Bridges, MLKJ, and Abraham Lincoln.
